Handmade Quilt Skirt-1950s Checkered

This skirt is made made from a vintage checkered quilt. When it was found, there was a whole side that was torn up and I didn't have enough fabric for pants, so why not make a skirt :) There is a light batting between the two layers, so I would say this is a light weight quilt. Based on the fabric, style and that I was all hand stitched, I would say this is from the 1950s. The skirt is cut in an a-line style and features an elastic waistband to fit a variety of sizes

Color Scheme: White with green scalloped hem and multicolored hand stitched accents

Approx Age: I would say this quilt was probably made in the 1950s, handmade recently

Fabric: no tags, I would say all soft cotton

Condition: Very Good wearable condition, the elastic is new and super stretchy, no holes or stains noted, please note there are a couple of areas especially with the pink fabric where it has bled to other areas

Waist: stretches from 22 inches to 30 inches around

Hips: up to 39 inches around

Total Length: 38 inches from top to bottom
