Handmade High Waist Quilt Palazzo Pants- Ultra Rare 1890s Diamond
Handmade High Waist Quilt Palazzo Pants- Ultra Rare 1890s Diamond
These pants are made from an antique Harlequin Diamond Quilt. To make this pant, I had to take it completely apart from its batting and lining fabric as it was HEAVY, I think there may have been horsehair and cotton as the batting, I have patchwork a trim to the pant from pieces from the pattern cutting and that ticking fabric was part of the lining. Â This is a top set onto an interfacing of calico and feed sack fabric, so I would say this is a light weight quilt. Â Based one the fabric , feathered embroidery, and style, I would say this is from the 1890s-1910s. This pant is made from a vintage palazzo pant pattern and features a wide leg, high waist, and elastic waist band to fit a variety of sizes. It also has inseam pockets for maximum comfort and utility :).
