Handmade High Waist Quilt Palazzo Pants- Ultra Rare 1880s Velvet Crazy Quilt

These pants are made from an Antique Velvet Crazy Quilt.  I would say this a light weight quilt, as it is velvet set on to an interfacing of calico and feed sacks on the inside, with no batting. Judging by the fabric, feathered embroidery, and style, I would say this is from the 1880s-early 1900s. This pant is made from a vintage palazzo pant pattern and features a wide leg, high waist, and elastic waist band to fit a variety of sizes. It also has inseam pockets for maximum comfort and utility :)

Color Scheme: a moody assortment of colors with and emphasis on black

Approx Age: This quilt was probably made in the 1880s -Early 1900s, handmade recently

Fabric: no tags, But this is mostly cotton velvet fabric with a few pieces of silk here and there on the outer, The lining is made up of a patchwork of calico and feed sacks cotton fabric

Condition: Very Good wearable condition, the elastic in new and super stretchy, no holes noted, because of the age of this piece I did my special spot treament and sun soak for cleaning, No stains noted on the outer, but there is one on the inside lining

Waist: stretches from 24 inches to 44 inches around

Rise:  15 inches from base of crotch to top of pants

Inseam:  24 inches from base of crotch to end of pants

Hips: up to 54 inches around

Thigh: 35 inches around

Total Length:  38 inches from top to bottom

Pant Width: 21  inches across from side to side measured at the hem
