Handmade Quilt Skirt- Rare 1950s Psychedelic Cathedral Window
Handmade Quilt Skirt- Rare 1950s Psychedelic Cathedral Window
This skirt is made from a vintage cathedral window quilt. When it was found, it had lots of tears and separations, so why not use the good parts for a skirt:) There is a one layer of fabric between the two layers, but since this is mostly wool and polyester pieces, I would say this a medium weight quilt. Judging by the fabric style, and that it is all hand-stitched, I would say this is from the 1960s-1970s. This skirt is cut in an a-line patterns and features an elastic waistband to fit a variety of sizes.
Color Scheme: a multicolored psychedelic pattern and color combo
Approx Age: This quilt was probably from the 1960s-1970s, handmade recently
Fabric: no tags, but I would say its mostly polyester with wool accents
Condition: Very Good wearable condition, the elastic is new and super stretchy, no holes noted ( I believe I have repaired them all) or stains
Waist: stretches from 28 inches to 36 inches around
Hips: up to 46 inches around
Total Length: 34 inches from top to bottom
