Handmade High Waist Ruffle Pantaloon Pants- Ultra Rare 1850s Indigo Ticking Fabric
Handmade High Waist Ruffle Pantaloon Pants- Ultra Rare 1850s Indigo Ticking Fabric
These pants are made from antique ticking fabric. I actually got this from an antique fabric collector and in a previous life this fabric was a matress cover that was probably stuffed with hay and horsehair. There is no batting between the two layers, but I would say this a light weight quilt, kind of a canvas feel. Judging by the fabric, selvedged edges, and style, I would say this is from the 1850s-1860s, possibly older. This pant is made from a vintage palazzo pant pattern and features a full ruffle trim, wide leg, high waist, and elastic waist band to fit a variety of sizes. It also has inseam pockets for maximum comfort and utility :).
