Handmade High Waist Quilt Palazzo Pants-Rare 1950s Butterfly

These pants are made from a vintage Butterfly quilt .When it was found, it was had several holes and wear areas, so why not use the good parts for pants:) There is a batting between the two layers, but I would say this a light weight quilt. Judging by the fabric, style, and that it is all hand stitched, I would say this is from the 1950s. This pant is made from a vintage palazzo pant pattern and features a super wide leg and elastic waist band to fit a variety of sizes. It also has inseam pockets for maximum comfort and utility :)

Color Scheme: White and Pink with multicolored and multi-patterned butterfly appliques

Approx Age: This quilt was probably made in the 1950s, handmade recently

Fabric: no tags, but I would say its all cotton

Condition: Very Good wearable condition, no holes noted (I believe I have repaired them all and the loose butterfly pieces) or stains noted, the elastic is new and super stretchy, this has been hand-washed

Waist: stretches from 24 inches to 34 inches around

Rise: 14.75 inches from base of crotch to top of pants

Inseam: 26 inches from base of crotch to end of pants

Hips: up to 44 inches around

Thigh: 26 inches around

Total Length: 40 inches from top to bottom

Pant Width: 16 inches across from side to side measured at the hem
