Handmade High Waist Quilt Palazzo Pants- Ultra Rare 1870s Velvet and Silk Pineapple Log Cabin

These pants are made from an Antique Velvet and Silk Pineapple Log Cabin Quilt.  I would say this a light weight quilt as it is velvet set on to an interfacing of feed sacks on the inside with no batting. Judging by the fabric, hand stitching style, I would say this is from the 1870s-1890s. This pant is made from a vintage palazzo pant pattern and features a wide leg, high waist, and elastic waist band to fit a variety of sizes. It also has inseam pockets for maximum comfort and utility :).

Color Scheme: a moody assortment of colors with and emphasis on black and red

Approx Age: This quilt was probably made in the 1870s-1890s, handmade recently

Fabric: no tags, but I would say its mostly cotton velvet and silk, the lining is cotton feedsacks

Condition: Very Good wearable condition, the elastic is new and super stretchy, no holes noted (please note, there is lots of silk shattering on this piece, it is set on to antique feedbacks, so those beautiful pieces shine thru those areas, it may shatter more with wear, but tra-la-lah even more feedsack to show thru :)), because of the age of this piece I did my special spot treatment and sun soak for cleaning, No stains noted

Rise: 17.5 inches from base of crotch to top of pants

Inseam: 27 inches from base of crotch to end of pants

Hips: up to 48 inches around

Thigh: 32 inches around

Total Length: 42 inches from top to bottom

Pant Width: 17.5 inches across from side to side measured at the hem
