Handmade Quilt Skirt- Rare 1950s Grandmother's Flower Garden
Handmade Quilt Skirt- Rare 1950s Grandmother's Flower Garden
This skirt is made from a vintage Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt. When it was found, it had lots of tears and separations, so why not use the good parts for a skirt:) There is a batting between the two layers, but I would say this a light weight quilt. Judging by the fabric style, and that it is all hand-stitched, I would say this is from the 1940s-1950s. This skirt is cut in an a-line patterns and features an elastic waistband to fit a variety of sizes.
Color Scheme: White and Yellow with multicolored hand-stitched hexagon accents
Approx Age: This quilt was probably made in the 1940s-1950s, handmade recently
Fabric: no tags, but I would say its all cotton

Waist: stretches from 23 inches to 31 inches around
Hips: up to 40 inches around
Total Length: 34 inches from top to bottom
