The 4th Armored Division was nicknamed "Breakthrough", it was active from 1941-1972. The Division landed in Normandy in July 1944 and fought in the European Theater of Operations until the end of the war. The Division was known for its role in the Battle of the Bulge and the liberation of the Ohdruf concentration camp
