Handmade High Waist Quilt Palazzo Pants-Ultra Rare 1840s Patchwork
Handmade High Waist Quilt Palazzo Pants-Ultra Rare 1840s Patchwork
These pants are made from antique patchwork quilt. This one is actually super special, a lot of antique ties quilts utilized an even older quilt that had run its course and is used as the batting for another quilt. I was cutting into an antique 9 patch calico quilt (pictured in the last pic), probably from the 1910s and found this was used as the batting, it had heavy wear on it, which is where I’m going with 1840s-1850s to date this. I would say this a medium to heavier weight quilt . Judging by the fabric, style, and that it is all hand stitched, I would say this is from the 1840s-1850s. This pant is made from a vintage palazzo pant pattern and features a wide leg, high waist, and elastic waist band to fit a variety of sizes. It also has inseam pockets for maximum comfort and utility :).
