Handmade High Waist Quilt Gaucho Pants-Ultra Rare 1800s Calico Diamond Triangle

These pants are made from an antique Diamond Triangle quilt. There is a batting between the two layers, but I would say this a light to medium weight quilt. Judging by the fabric, style, and that it is all hand stitched, I would say this is from the 1880s-1910s. This pant is made from a vintage palazzo pant pattern and features a wide leg, high waist, and elastic waist band to fit a variety of sizes. It also has inseam pockets for maximum comfort and utility :).

Color Scheme: Yellow, Ivory, Brown, Blue, Red

Approx Age: This quilt was probably made in the 1880s-1910s, handmade recently

Fabric: no tags, but I would say its all cotton, very soft cotton

Condition: Very Good wearable condition, the elastic is new and super stretchy, this quilt went thru several steps in repairing, it was covered in fabric wear so after cutting, I ran a zig zag stitch over all the wear that was showing, I then soaked and hand washed it and repaired all the wear that showed after washing, it was then assembled and washed again, there are lots of areas of this repair, but there are still some areas of fabric wear, I'll show in photos the best I can, this has been hand washed twice, but still may have some discolorations that add to the lovliness of the piece

Waist: stretches from 24 inches to 34 inches around

Rise:  13.5 inches from base of crotch to top of pants

Inseam:  16.5 inches from base of crotch to end of pants

Hips: up to 44 inches around

Thigh: 26 inches around

Total Length: 29.5 inches from top to bottom

Pant Width: 15.75 inches across from side to side measured at the hem
