Handmade High Waist Quilt Palazzo Pants- 1980s Rainbow Checkered 9 Block

These pants are made from a vintage checkered 9 block quilt. When it was found, it was covered in stains and seam separations , so why not use the good parts for pants:) There is a light batting between the two layers, but I would say this a light weight quilt. Judging by the fabric, style, that it is all hand stitched, it also has a few Care Bear blocks  which is why I'm thinking it as finished in the 1980s. This pant is made from a vintage palazzo pant pattern and features a super wide leg and elastic waist band to fit a variety of sizes. It also has inseam pockets for maximum comfort and utility :)

Color Scheme: a rainbow assortment of colors

Approx Age: This quilt was probably made in the 1970s-1980s, handmade recently

Fabric: no tags, but I would say its all cotton, maybe some cotton blend

Condition: Very Good wearable condition, the elastic is new and super stretchy, no holes or stains noted, this has been hand-washed

Waist: stretches from 25 inches to 36 inches around

Rise: 15.25 inches from base of crotch to top of pants

Inseam: 25 inches from base of crotch to end of pants

Hips: up to 48 inches around

Thigh: 30 inches around

Total Length: 40 inches from top to bottom

Pant Width: 19 inches across from side to side measured at the hem
