Handmade High Waist Quilt Palazzo Pants-Ultra Rare 1920s Seven Stars for Seven Sisters Flour Sack
Handmade High Waist Quilt Palazzo Pants-Ultra Rare 1920s Seven Stars for Seven Sisters Flour Sack
I had to do a little research on this pattern, because I have NEVER seen one of these before. Its called a seven stars for the stars, weather predicting, and greek myth.
The name Seven Sisters istaken from the cluster of stars in the constellation of Taurus with the astronomical name of āthe Pleiades.ā Some oldtimers thought you could predict the weather according to the number of āsistersā you could see on any given night. The Greek myth of the seven daughters of the Titan God Atlas, trapped in the heavens, has been around for thousands of years. Seven sisters who have become stars applies equally to both main block names.
These pants are made from a vintage Seven Stars for Seven Sisters quilt When it was found, it was covered in tears, so why not use the good parts for pants:) There is a light batting between the two layers, but I would say this a light weight quilt. Judging by the fabric, style, and that it is all hand stitched, I would say this is from the 1920s-1930s. This pant is made from a vintage palazzo pant pattern and features a super wide leg and elastic waist band to fit a variety of sizes. It also has inseam pockets for maximum comfort and utility
